Sauteed Sayote with Garbanzos and Malunggay

Easy to prep and affordable. Can be a stand alone viand or serve as a veggie side dish.



Ingredients:

1 can gatbanzos

2 pieces sayote, cubed

1 piece tomato, chopped

1 piece onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can sardines

1 cup malunggay leaves

1 tablespoon cooking oil


Instructions:

Heat oil in a small pot. Saute garlic, onions, and tomatoes. Add the sayote and 2 tablespoons water. Cover and allow to simmer until sayote is half cooked. Add the sardines and garbanzos. Mix and allow to simmer again until sayote is cooked through. Add the malunggay leaves then season with salt and pepper. Turn off heat and serve.
