Olympic and Elite Performance Nutrition Coach Jeaneth Aro has been awarded a special citation for her unparalleled contribution to sports nutrition in the Philippines last March 20, 2024 at the inaugural Women in Sports Awards at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum. The event is spearheaded by Philippine Sports Commissioner, and legendary Filipina hall of famer bowler Olivia “Bong” Coo to give recognition to the achievements of women athletes, coaches, executives and other personnel that have brought honor and glory to the country. From a total of 300 nominees, only 50 women were given awards for their contributions to Philippine sports

I share this award with my husband, our kids and family, and to all the athletes, coaches, parents, team management and staff who I’ve worked with. I won’t be standing in this stage if not for their excellent work, commitment to collaborate and love for sport! I also share this recognition to all the moms working in this unique world of Philippine sports. You are all remembered for generously sharing your exuberant love and care for your families to our national athletes. Mabuhay!” Jeaneth said in her Facebook post

Jeaneth’s journey into the realm of sports nutrition began 2 decades ago with a passion for both sports and science. With a degree in Community Nutrition from the University of the Philippines, she pursued further studies in sports nutrition from the International Olympic Committee. She is driven by a vision to enhance the performance of Filipino athletes on the global stage. Her unwavering commitment and innovative approach soon caught the attention of athletes and sports organizations nationwide.

Throughout her career, Jeaneth has been instrumental in revolutionizing the way athletes fuel their bodies for optimal performance. She has worked tirelessly to debunk myths and misconceptions surrounding sports nutrition, emphasizing evidence-based practices tailored to individual athletes' needs. Her athletic fueling system has elevated the standards of sports nutrition in the Philippines positioning her as a trailblazer in the field.

Among Jeaneth’s most notable contributions was being part of the high performance team of the 4 Olympic medalists in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Beyond simply prescribing diets and supplements, she places a strong emphasis on education, empowering athletes to make informed choices about their nutrition. By doing this, she equips athletes with the knowledge and skills they need to excel both on and off the field.
